Conservatory Outlet employee raises £2,500 for cha
Darren Pollard, Office Manager at Conservatory Outlet, completed the Great North Run on the 1st October, raising nearly £2,500. Darren took up the challenge in aid of the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF). He raised funds for the CLDF to repay them for the emotional and practical support that they offered to Darren’s family when they discovered that their son, Elliot had a rare and life-threatening liver disease soon after his birth. Elliot has been in theatre ten times in the 21 months since his birth and underwent a liver transplant at six months. The transplant was successful and Elliot’s health has improved greatly. Darren was glad to spend the one hour and 41 minutes it took for him to complete the Run raising money so that the CLDF can help others like his family. Darren comments: ‘The race was a challenge but I was surprised at how well I coped. I am delighted to be giving something back to the CLDF after they have supported us so well and I look forward to running again.’
